Learn how to manage a focus group project, even if you have never done so before. In this 4-session class, Instructor Kathryn Korostoff will guide students through the process of planning and managing a focus group project step-by-step.
In Week 1, students learn about specifying objectives and documenting a plan. In Week 2, we cover facility selection, online focus group platforms, screening, and managing the recruitment process. Week 3 prepares students for working with a moderator, coordinating with the facility, and managing clients for the observation process. And finally, in Week 4, students explore project conclusion best practices and reporting options.
This class only covers reporting options briefly. For a more in-depth class on reporting, see the class Writing Qualitative Research Reports.
NOTE: This class includes homework assignments, and students should be prepared to spend one hour per week on homework.
